This is a protective water-repellent coating. If your timber isn’t treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use our Wood Preserver Plus first.

Advice: 2 coats are recommended with further coats increasing the solidity of the colour. Wood Stain & Protect is a wood stain coating so will wear off over time. If applying Wood Stain & Protect to a garden building that will be subjected to high levels of exposure to weather, it is recommended that you apply Protek Clear Tough Coat as a top coat.

For light colours, we recommend using our Stain Blocking Primer to prevent the top coat discolouring from possible tannin bleed.
